Highlighting Our Staff

Meet Rose!

Rose Gallups is our registered dental assistant.

Rose has been with the Premiere office for several years and is an incredible employee! We asked her a few questions so you can get to know her better. Here's what she said:

1. Tell us something about you:

I am married with one child who is 12. He plays ice hockey. We spend most of our Spear time at the ice rink watching our son play ice hockey or practice ice hockey. I hate working out but I enjoy it at the same time. I really enjoy scary movies. I love the outdoors, Hiking, camping, roller-skating. Things like that. I wanted to be a veterinarian from the age of 2. I went to school to become one. I started working in an office while in school, but was unable to do the job. Anytime an animal got hurt I would cry. I would cry during surgery. When we had to put an animal to sleep I cried. It wasn’t the job for me. I love animals, I would love to own a ranch and have a lot of animals that I have saved and can give good homes. That would be my dream. I have 2 huskies One is 10 months old and one is 10 years old. We have 3 cats, one is 19 years, 3 years, 11 months. They all have different personalities. We love animals. We would have a farm if we could afford it. Family and friends are the most important thing in our lives. I am very truthful to a fault. Sometimes I can be too truthful. I am an open book. I really enjoy helping people. I love sports, Hockey(Red Wings and the ducks), Football (Green Bay), Baseball (Angels) Soccer (Manchester United). I have a AA/BA in Business Management and marketing. This is what I ended up getting when I couldn’t become a veterinarian. During this time I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be but I knew it wasn’t in marketing or cooperate business. I knew I always wanted to do medical. So I did a course over the summer for 3 months to get my DA in Dentistry. I fell in love with dental and procured a career in Dentistry. I finished up school while working in a dental office. I worked in a very large office my fist 3 years and worked with every Doctor in the office. I learned a lot from each doctor I worked with, as they all worked differently. I have worked in dentistry for about 14 years now. I love what I do. I always knew I loved the medical field just never thought of dental in that way.

2. What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is having a patient leave the dental office happy and come in happy. I really enjoy it when a patient comes into the office and hates being here, very nervous and becomes so comfortable with us that they fall asleep in the chair. Also, that they no longer need medicine or to take nitrous to relax. I really enjoy making patient’s happy. I love to help them overcome their fears of the dental office. I take great pride in making patients feel welcomed. I want patients to know that is the most important thing in the office! That we care about their wellbeing and the quality of their care more than their money. I got into dentistry for this reason.

3. If a grateful patient wanted to bring you a fun treat what would you like it to be?

I would like it to be something that we can put in the office. I would like maybe a Plant, Picture, Candle, something that can be for the office we can maybe display. We have gotten things we can hang for holidays, it is always nice because we can have them displayed when the patients come to the office. Anything from a patient would be wonderful. Getting gifts from patients is always wonderful no matter what it is. This lets me know that I am doing something right.

4. Is there anything else fun or important to know about you?

I love country music, My husband got me into country over the last 2 years. We like to go to concerts with our 12 year old son. He loves country as well. We love to travel to places we have never been. I really enjoy going to places where we can meet locals and see the places that most tourist don’t see. I love islands and the water. We do a lot of cruises. This makes it easier to go to some of these places. I love to learn about other cultures. I hope one day I can go to the place my grandma was born and lived her life until 15, Italy. The one place I truly want to visit is Florence, Italy.
